Matt Furie's Boy's Club

I love comics. I love 1960/70's "underground comix" and all the new things put out by CF, Jeffery Brown, Matt Furie, the guy who does Underworld, and a lot of other people too. I go out of my way to find out about these peoples' work and I nerd out soooo much that I feel ashamed that I like comics sometimes. But at the end of the day, I can't stop loving comic books.

But I absolutely HATE the snobby little comic book culture that it has spawned. It's worse than stoners! And I'm not talking about those ubernerds who just LOVE Green Arrow or Powerwoman. No, I hate the snobby, elitist, hipster douchebags that LOVE newage underground/DIY comic books. I've seen so many jearseyknit-wearing little fartbags talking about how great comics are and how cool it is to be a comic book artist and how underground and new and crazy it is. I can't stand that shit. I hate that they say things like, "low-brow art is just-as-good-if-not-better than high-brow art." They over-intellectualize a bunch of pictures that make a little story and turn it into something that everyone should love and accept. I HATE that. I want to read these crappy little comics because I want to see some crudely drawn cartoon violence and nudity. I don't want to sit around and eat humus and biscuits and discuss what a revolution of thought it is that some monster's floppy dick is being cut in half. Comics are for kids and they should always be for kids; even the ones with monster dicks. I want to feel embarrassed when I'm buying comic books, and go through life telling no one except other comic book nerds that I like comics. And you should too! All these DIY comics people need to crawl under the rafters with the rest of us comic book nerds and stop touting the virtues of comics. Just shut up and be embarrassed like the rest of us instead of trying to make something that's super fucking nerdy into something cool. I HATE that!

Also, "Feels good, man."

Disneyland Withdrawls

I have this theory:

Disney puts something in the water. There is an addictive drug that they put in the water of almost all their rides at Disneyland. Have you ever noticed that over half of the rides require you to get wet, or have water or mist that splashes and/or sprays you? Have you ever noticed that those rides have a distinct smell? Pirates of the Carribean in particular is notorious for this; furthermore it's the shortest wait time, and a "must-ride", a perfect setup to get a lot of people exposed to their drug throughout the whole day. Disney must have an addictive drug in the water that is absorbed through the skin, and they are exposing everyone to it! This is the only way so many people could be such die-hard Disney fans. The more you visit Disneyland, the more fanatical and addicted you become. It's the only way!

Lonesome Afternoon

Haven't been alone in a while. Got some things done today. Mostly I wrote more of my screenplay. I hope that once I revise it, and flesh out everything and format it more professionally, I'll have a decent script. At least something worth a few bucks. I'd love to make it one day, and have my life really take off. But until then, I'm just plowing ahead and not worrying about it. Worrying is worse than being lazy sometimes. Rock 'n' Roll, Rock 'n' Roll, Rock 'n' Roll!

A Loss of a Day

I can tell that today will yeild no results. I'm too busy working at my nine-to-five. Yesterday was a full of accomplishment, but today looks like an unhappy trudge through the survival part of life.

Button-Making Time!!!

Hey Everyone, I'm going to embark on a creative journey into button making!!!! What designs should I make???

Another Day at the Grindstone

I churned out music all morning after I ate breakfast and drank some coffee. The result was nothing too special, but I got some things down worth saving for later. I plan to record an entire album for myself (ya know, as something to have completed before I died. I want to make it an album of music though, not just songs. I'm starting to think that my grand ideas are too much for what I'm capable of just yet, but I can always use a good challenge to myself.

It's time to BLOG!!

This is it, everyone!! Let the BLOGGING begin!!!
